In 1972, MASTERMIND arranged a photo shoot for the board game cover. The photo staff had found a female college student from The University of Leicester strolling with friends and thought she’d fit the bill. She gladly accepted their offer. Her name was Cecilia Fung. The original male model failed to show, so an unknown gentleman who owned a chain of hairdressing salons by the name of Bill Woodward was asked to step in. He graciously agreed. MASTERMIND Algorithm: The Secret RevealedAccording to Britannica, an algorithm is described as “a procedure that produces the answer to a question or the solution to a problem in a finite number of steps”. Manipulation of lists (searching for, inserting and removing items) can be done very efficiently by using algorithms. MASTERMIND™ is a study in algorithmic complexity that serves as a math algorithm example…although most players simply view it as challenging fun. Dr. Michael T. Goodrich is a Chancellor’s Professor at the University of California, Irvine, where he is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science.

Outta Jo, Onto You Blogger Takes MASTERMIND Board Game on the RoadMASTERMIND® Board Game had a great time at BlogHer ’10 challenging newcomers to a game and reaquainting fans with breaking codes. Jo from Outta Jo, Onto You received a complimentary copy that she took along with her on a trip to Vermont. It had been two years since the last time she played and she had this to say about the game: “In general, I am not very good at this sort of thing. Logic puzzles are not my strong suit and that’s basically what this game is. That being said, however, I do actually enjoy playing MASTERMIND. It’s just challenging enough to be interesting, but not so challenging that I get discouraged. And if I am feeling discouraged, I can rest easy knowing that it will be over in 10 turns or less
